Packing List
Packing can be overwhelming and expensive! It is good start gathering supplies early so that you can budget for necessary supplies. Each week purchase or gather the items listed for that week. Not everything has been listed in the packing list so please note any “additional information” or “action required”.
India is a modest, humble country; please dress accordingly. You will need everything on
this list. Keep it simple!
Backpack or Carry on (This must be weighed before you get to the airport; it cannot weigh more than 15 lbs.)

Passport/Visa
Visa Email (if it’s not already stamped in your passport)
Evacuation Insurance
Trip Protection (Highly recommended) What's the difference between travel insurance and trip ‘protection'?
Health Needs:
Toiletries: makeup, toothbrush, toothpaste (mini tube), sunscreen, contact solution (small bottle), floss, flushable wash wipes, lotion, lip balm, deodorant, nail clippers. All itemsmust be in a ziploc bag and all liquid items must be in 3 oz bottles or smaller.
Snacks for the airplane.
Personal First Aid Kit: Advil, Tylenol, Dramamine, Tylenol P.M., Imodium, Bandages, Neosporin, Cold Medications, Dulcolax, Medicine for high altitude sickness etc.
Prescriptions: All personal prescriptions, as well and 1 pack Azithromycin (also known as a Z-Pak). If you tend to get car sick, get a prescription for Orally Disintegrating Zofran--it sometimes works better than Dramamine. Please bring any other personal prescriptions that you are taking.
Hand Sanitizer – individual packets, just a few for the plane Travel flushable wipes, travel-size tissue packs (when we get off the airplane toilet paper in bathrooms is not a given, be prepared).
Clothing:
In a gallon size ziploc bag, put 2 pairs of underwear, socks and your T-shirt and bottoms. (For no-show bags, or for something clean to wear on the plane home).
Misc:
Phone (Airplane Mode only, the text and roaming charges are astronomical), Headlamp flashlight with extra batteries Journal, Pen, Books, Camera: pack in a ziploc bag and don’t forget extra batteries or memory card, Water Bottle that clips or attaches to your backpack
Necessities:
Sleeping bag liner- you can purchase one at a camping store
Toiletries:
Towel, wash cloth Flip Flops for shower Soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, single use laundry detergent, sunscreen, insect repellant. 1 rolls of toilet paper in ziploc bag OR 1 packages flushable wet wipes
Girls: Hair accessories, and feminine hygiene products
Clothing:
10-12 pair of underwear 6-8 pair of socks (wool socks work well)
Extra pair of shoes (closed-toe shoes, you will not want to walk around in flip flops) Small rain poncho
Warm coat/parka
2 plastic garbage bags for dirty clothes
